Social media reacts to Florida’s commitment to 4-star WR Eugene Wilson III

Florida Gators recruiting begins to catch fire in early July. This week alone, the Gators have added three four-star prospects, with all three names joining the roster in the past two days. The latest name to appear for the coaching staff came on Friday when Tampa (Florida) four-star receiver Gaither Eugene Wilson III forcibly joined the staff.

Wilson III has been a prime target for the Florida Gators coaching staff since landing an offer from them earlier in the year. He wasted little time getting to campus right out of March and left campus declaring the Gators his absolute boss. He never shied away from those claims in the months leading up to his July engagement date. The wide slot receiver position was a priority for the Florida staff this cycle, and they have now landed two names at that position currently in Wilson III and Whittemore Creed. Both of these names have a certain speed they bring.

The Gators 2023 class currently has 12 verbal engagements so far with the addition of Wilson III. Those other names include Thomasville (GA) Upson-Lee four-star edge TJ Searcy, Jacksonville (Florida) Trinity Christian four-star running back Treyaun WebbSaint Petersburg, Florida Lakewood four star edge rusher Isaiah NixonJacksonville (Florida) Bartram Trail four-star defensive back Sharif DensonGainesville (Fla.) Buchholz four-star defensive lineman Gavin Hill, Sharpsburg (GA) Trinity Christian School Four Star Athlete Aaron Gates, Bradenton, Fla. IMG Academy Four-Star Inside Offensive Lineman Knijeah HarrisPonte Vedra Beach (Fla.) Nease’s four-star quarterback Marcus StokesGainesville (Florida) Buchholz four-star wide receiver Whittemore CreedRockledge (Florida) three-star offensive lineman Bryce Lovettand Eustis (Florida) three-star wide receiver Tyree Patterson.

The 247Sports Composite, an industry-generated average, currently ranks Wilson III as the nation’s No. 147 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class.

This addition has been buzzing on social media, and Swamp247 shares some of the top reactions to this big cover.
