The daughter of Ghana’s first president, Mrs. Samia Yaaba Nkrumah, has commissioned a three-unit classroom block for Tikobo Number Two Catholic Primary School in Jomoro Municipality in honor of her father’s centenary celebration.

The structure also aims to create a teaching and learning environment conducive to both students and staff in the pursuit of good quality education.

Handing over the class block to the school administration, Ms. Yaba Nkrumah, who became an MP for the region from 2013 to 2017, said she built and commissioned the class block as part of the centenary celebrations of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

She took the opportunity to instruct the gathering to emulate the good deeds of Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

According to her, “because of the good deeds of Osagyefo Dr. Nkrumah, every year people all over the world celebrate his birthday, so if you want your legacy to endure, do good for the people around you.”

Ms. Yaaba Nkrumah thanked the community leaders, staff and residents for supporting the construction and completing the project on time.

She also thanked the contractor for working hard to complete the structure to celebrate her father’s 112th birthday.

She urged the school administration to keep the facility going to last longer and advised schoolchildren to take their studies seriously, to one day become great personalities like Dr Kwame Nkrumah in Ghana.

The former MP took the opportunity to commit to continuing to support the school and the community whenever the need arises.

“Let me assure you that this is not the last thing we are going to do for school, because now that we have started we will always be with you, we will continue to help in small and big ways, we will always be being with the people of Tikobo number two, we will continue to help you, ”she said.

She called on residents to always rally with her and pray that she obtains resources to support the community.

The principal of Tikobo Catholic Primary School Number Two, Ms. Felicia Archer, thanked Ms. Yaaba Nkrumah for her kind gesture.

She said the new building would reduce congestion in the school and asked him to provide furniture for the school.

The director pledged her commitment to maintain the new facility so that it will last longer to achieve the intended goal.

Nana Avo-Nwiah V, the leader of Tikobo Number Two, thanked Ms. Yaaba Nkrumah for supporting the school with such a beautiful class block.

He revealed that Ms. Yaaba Nkrumah recently supported the community with 50 bags of cement to build a health center for the community.

“Almighty God bless Samia Yaaba Nkrumah for always thinking of the number two community of Tikobo, and let me reveal that our health facility that we are building, Samia has supported us with 50 bags of cement and we are very grateful, ”he said.

Nana Avo-Nwiah V called on the former MP to continue helping the community.

Speaking on the sidelines, some students thanked the former MP for the gesture, adding that the new facility would encourage them to learn hard to become like Dr Kwame Nkrumah in the future.
