Lighthouse Christian School improves its facilities
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Lighthouse Christian School has made some changes to spruce up its amenities.
The Lions replaced their 1985 bus with a 2009 edition with 54 seats, which can accommodate more people. School officials bought the vehicle at a steep discount, plus another perk it provides a safer mode of transportation.
The lighthouse also installed brand new turf, with the names of their three main sponsors, the school‘s primary colors alternating across the pitch.
The process took about three weeks and was completed earlier this month.
“We were lucky to have sponsors to do this, it’s not out of our budget for lined up items, so to speak,” explained Lighthouse’s football and athletics coach. “We had sponsors who made this turf possible, they created our bus for our athletes and students to use for field trips and so many things. Our elementary kids were the first we had a day of elementary athletics on the grass, so thanks to these sponsors, these kids will have a great experience throughout their careers here at Lighthouse.
Meanwhile, the men’s track and field team coached by Smith, took six athletes to the state and they came in second, only losing half a point to grace.
One of the top performers from last weekend, Walker Goettle. The junior won the 100, 200 and 400 meters. Plus the 4×100 meter relay.
