‘It really grew faster than we thought:’ Billings Christian School celebrates first day on new high school campus | State
BILLINGS, Mont. – Billings Christian School welcomed back-to-school high school students to a new campus at 1515 Shiloh Road. The campus was once the home of Yellowstone Christian College.
“We needed classrooms,” said Diann Floth, principal of Billings Christian School. “Our elementary classes were full. And we had long waiting lists for those classes. So we started praying about which direction we should go. Someone just mentioned at one point our high school was moving here.”
The new high school has a full science lab, art room, half gym, and chapel. As part of the expansion, Floth said it hired 21 additional staff and faculty.
School officials said the new high school campus has allowed the school to accommodate an additional 125 students this year. However, the school has waiting lists for three levels.
“He really grew faster than we ever thought he would,” Floth added. “But there’s just a need. People see the need for a different option for kids. We’re filling that need right now.”
Billings Christian School is also building a new middle school. Floth said the middle school is expected to be completed in November 2022. She said the new school will allow them to accommodate an additional 60 students next year.
