ANEW Place Inc. Hires Joe Domko as New Managing Director

Burlington, Vermont. – ANEW Place Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Domko as its new General Manager. He will step into the role on May 16.
Joe brings with him many years of experience with Catholic Charities in Kansas and Colorado, which included overseeing operations and programming a multifaceted shelter system, transitional housing program, an emergency assistance program, an elderly services program, a response to forest fires and database management. During his tenure at Catholic Charities in Colorado, he launched a multi-year initiative with Colorado State University to embed restorative practices and directors into their culture and services.
He says, “I was drawn to ANEW by its unique holistic, faith-based approach to engaging and walking alongside our brothers and sisters experiencing homelessness. Rarely does an agency identify and honor both material and relational poverty, and ANEW is committed to mitigating both. Vermont has been on our radar for many years. My wife is from the east coast and several of her family members reside in Vermont. With the birth of our children, closeness to family has taken on increased importance, especially in this global pandemic season. Moving to Vermont offers us the opportunity to live out our vision of community a little more authentically, as we lean into an intergenerational experience and education for our children. Although we were most blessed in this regard during our years in Colorado, we believe that Vermont can actually be an upgrade with its rural character and proximity to trails, rivers, lakes and mountains. We look forward to discovering and hopefully contributing to Vermont’s unique environment and culture.
Domko holds a Master of Arts in Religion from United Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.
